Shadowland Pavilion
Shadowland Pavilion

Overlooking Lake Michigan and the mouth of the St. Joseph River the Shadowland Pavilion at Silver Beach is an ideal location for a group gathering during the warmer months. It can accommodate up to 160 people seated at picnic tables and includes a charcoal grill and electrical outlets. (It is also a great location for an outdoor concert!) Silver Beach
Silver Beach

Located below the bluff in downtown St. Joseph on Lake Street. It has a 600-space parking lot off Broad Street, men's and women's bathhouses, park office and visitor's center bike racks, playground equipment volleyball nets and 1600-foot beach for swimmers (lifeguard on duty during the summer). Voted "Top Ten Beaches" by Parents Magazine and "Top Six Beaches in the World" by Delta Sky Magazine.

 

 
Tiscornia Park

Tiscornia Park 

A family oriented park located on sixteen acres along the shoreline of Lake Michigan in the northwest corner of the City. Amenities include the North Pier Lighthouse and walkway, which is a popular spot for fishing and watching sunsets. Restroom facilities, sandy beach and a pavilion that will accommodate about forty for picnics is available for rental through the City Clerks Office at 269-983-6325. $3 admission per vehicle is required for Non-City Residents and those without Season Passes. Season Passes are available for $20.

 
Lake Bluff Park

Lake Bluff Park

Spectacular view of Lake Michigan, Silver Beach, St. Joseph River piers and lighthouse. Lake Bluff Park features picnic tables, historic monuments, walking trails and benches, Lake Boulevard and Downtown St. Joseph. Home to the Farmer's Market, Antiques on the Bluff and Light up the Bluff light display in winter.

 
Lions Park Beach

Lions Park Beach

Below the bluff in downtown St. Joseph south on Lions Park Drive. Sheltered pavilions parking and sidewalks. (No lifeguards on duty for swimming.) Featrues a playground restrooms and a superb view of St. Joseph's pier and lighthouse.

 
Margaret B. Upton Arboretum

Margaret B. Upton Arboretum

Provides approximately a quarter mile of frontage on the south side of the St. Joseph River adjacent to the downtown area. It is heavily used during the Venetian Festival and as a broadside moorage during the Tri-State Regatta. A great place to take the kids and feed the ducks. The Howard Recreation Trail passes through the arboretum.

 

 

 
John E. N. Howard Bandshell

John E.N. Howard Bandshell

The John E. N. Howard Bandshell hosts the Municipal Band Concerts, the Brown Bag Concerts, and a variety of other public events. It may be leased for concerts and wedding ceremonies; call for more information. The Municipal Band Concerts begin the last Sunday in June and continue on Sundays and holidays through Labor Day. These concerts are open to the public at no charge.

John & Dede Howard Recreation Trail

John & Dede Howard Recreation Trail

The John and Dede Howard Recreation Trail is a multiuse path allowing for beautiful views of Lake Michigan and the St. Joseph River over most of the length.
Begins behind the Water Plant, at the south end of Lions Park Drive (just below the pedestrian bridge from Lake Court), and runs north to Park Street; west to Silver Beach (use the sidewalk); north along the park sidewalk to Elm Street; north and then east along the edges of Whirlpool Field; north on the south side of Vine Street; east through the Upton Arboretum along the St. Joseph River, and continues east below the Berrien County Courthouse before ending at the Bicentennial Bridge. This multi-use path allows for beautiful views of Lake Michigan and the St. Joseph River over most of its length. Click here for free bike rental information and Trail Map.
